Arguably the most important issue for any small, medium, or large business is employing and maintaining a proper time blocking system. In fact, it it can be the essence of success, or the demise of failure.

Responsible, seasoned business owners who set up, set aside time, and keep up with the proper time blocking system keep all of their appointments, and do generally better when we look at the financial reports. These are the winners in the business world. We find that they have happier employees, have much greater revenue, do not lose customers, and as a matter of fact, gain far more clientele.

In the contrary, businesses who do not do well to employ a time blocking system, lose employees, and the employees that they do have are not as happy. These are also companies that cannot find new business, stagnate, or ultimately lose business. These the companies that do not have longevity. Often, employees will use the excuse that they couldn’t do what was assigned to them because this or that came up surprisingly.

So what kinds of things should you include your time blocking system, says Edmonton CPA. Absolutely everything. This includes, but is not limited to your hiring, recruiting, interviewing, and training processes, sales, including outside sales, payroll, etc. Think, too, that you as the owner will have to maintain a brick and mortar company. Ergo, you will have to be running out and getting office supplies, along with your outside meetings.

So how do you properly right or adopt time blocking system? Get a 12 month calendar and fill your 12 month calendar with every type of meeting, conference, appointment throughout the 12 months. Take care not to deviate more than once or twice a year. If you do this properly, you will find the yourself your employees and your family will have plenty of time for the necessities of life including a car accident, jury duty, celebrations, holidays, etc.

Second, advises Edmonton CPA, take a blank piece of paper include on that blank piece of paper aligned on the middle and put for templates on your piece of paper i.e., week one, week two, week three, in week four. Put the most pressing, time sensitive tasks in week one finish those first as those do have a deadline. The last time sensitive tasks put into week four as well, include daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly tasks. Tasks that only happen once or twice a year put into week four.

Keep in mind to that time on systems are not industry-specific. You will find that one time blocking system may not work for your friend from a different industry.

A discipline schedule equals maximum free time when you closure business for the day you will know that your business is well taken care of as well as your loved ones.

However, they warn that this could potentially make or break your business. In fact, it can be the essence of success for any small, medium, and large businesses.

Stats show an interruption in the task that you were working on takes approximately 23 minutes to regain your focus and get back to the task at hand. Further to that, no one is a really good multitasker.

It is fact that as a business grows that business will definitely need to put aside time for focused solitary work as well as collaborative group work.

What kinds of things should you include and be aware of when writing a time blocking system? Everything. These things include but are not limited to, recruiting, hiring, training, payroll, sales, interviews, marketing and communications, etc. A lot of what might be done during your business to might have to be done outside of the business, so please keep in mind travel time as well.

There are many ways to set up a time blocking system as the system is not industry-specific. There are no right or wrong time blocking systems, says Edmonton CPA. However to constant things must be taken into account. Put a line down the middle of the blank piece of paper fill that piece of paper up with daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly tasks the daily, more frequent tasks should be the top of the page and the tasks that only happen once or twice a year should be near the bottom. As well, use for templates, week one, week two, week three, and week four. The same pressing tasks go in the week one: the less pressing tasks will go into week four.
