Business Coach | Get Rid of Distractions in Business

When entrepreneurs are new, they often have a lot of distractions according to their business coach. But this is also the time to learn how to minimize distractions and eliminate interruptions. In order to get as much accomplished as they can.

In fact, business owners often overestimate what they are going to be able to accomplish in the first year of their business says there business coach.

So to get as much done as they possibly can. It is important that entrepreneurs need to eliminate as many distractions and interruptions in their business early on.

The reason why, is because these distractions and interruptions will cause them to work less efficiently. Because they will not be able to focus on one task to completion, and every time a person switches tasks.

It takes them about twenty-three minutes in order to regain their peak level of productivity. Therefore, constant interruptions and distractions. Can cause a business owner to be very inefficient with their time.

But in addition to that says there business coach. When people are multitasking, or allowing themselves to be distracted with different tasks. They are also not going to get their work done to a high quality either.

And the reason why, is because people are not focusing on the tasks at hand. And are bouncing around from one task to the other. Therefore, if entrepreneurs want to know what they need to do.

In order to help them get as many of their strategic priorities as possible. They should learn how to avoid multitasking, and focus on one task at a time in their business.

How they can do this according to their business coach is by creating a time block schedule. To help them stay on task whenever they are at work. But also, so that they have time set aside.

For every important task that needs to get done in their business. By creating a time block schedule, their setting aside time in the future for not only the strategic priorities in their business plan.

But every task, no matter how big or small it is. So that nothing is forgotten or overlooked. And a business owner will know exactly what they need to work on every day. And how much time it should take them to accomplish each task.

This can help entrepreneurs avoid getting distracted, because they know that they only have a certain amount of time to work on a task. Until it is time to work on something else, just as important.

They can avoid distractions by turning off their cell phone. So that they do not get personal email, text messages or personal phone calls. Because even if they are not answering those messages.

Hearing the notifications can be enough of a distraction. To cause an entrepreneur to not work in their peak productivity zone.

Also, they need to ensure that they are not answering their own business phone or emails. But setting aside time to return messages, and check emails. Instead of getting distracted every time the phone rings, or they get an email.

Many entrepreneurs think that truly successful small business owners are constantly multitasking according to their business coach. But the truth is, the most successful entrepreneurs. Do not multitask at all.

The reason why, is because they know that they are not going to be able to get as much accomplished in their business. By splitting their focus in many different directions at the same time.

And that by focusing on one task until it is done, ensures that they can give that one task their maximum focus. Which will allow them to complete it to high quality.

The next thing that business owners need to understand. Is that the interruptions and distractions that they can have. Can come from their customers, and suppliers. But also their own staff as well.

Therefore, they need to ensure that they are setting up their own systems and processes. So that they can minimize interruptions from within their business as well.

And by putting the staff on the same schedule as the owner. Everyone will have focused and uninterrupted work time. Which will help their staff get a lot more accomplished as well.

In fact, the fewer interruptions that the staff have, the happier they will be as well. Because it is been proven that the more people are interrupted, the less happy they are.

This will ensure that business owners can have their staff work more efficiently. Complete work at a higher quality, and the happier at the same time.

As well, there business coach says that they should also ensure that there is time for questions or collaboration. Because it will not be possible for the staff to work uninterrupted all the time.

Because eventually, they will have questions for the business owner. Or want to collaborate with the business owner, or other staff members. To help solve problem, or review their work.

So why having a time set aside for staff to collaborate and talk to each other. They are ensuring that the time that is devoted to uninterrupted work, can truly be uninterrupted.

And during this uninterrupted time, it is okay for the business owner to let phone calls go to voicemail. And to have the emails not checked during that time. And that there will be time set aside for getting back to people who have called and emailed.

But also, a business owner can stop checking their own emails, and answering the phone. By letting their staff handle that. And only the emails and phone calls that they do not know how to handle.

Will get forwarded to the business owner to deal with. When that part of their day to answer emails and check voicemails happens. So that they do not feel like it is necessary to always be looking at emails or answering phones.

This can take some time to get used to according to their business coach. But once they get used to this in their business. Not only will they be able to get a lot more accomplished.

That will help them grow their business. But the quality of work that they do will skyrocket, ensuring that they can do high-quality work for their customers.
